Iya Alakara

Mercyland - (Ile-Aanu)

Iya Alakara Gbagura was famous for Akara in her days. She had different specie of Akara depending on whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner time.

Her Akara was used to entertain Kabiyesi's guest and it is believed that she was one of Kabiyesi's many wives. It is however unclear which Kabiyesi.

Her statue is located up the street from the palace. Ile Aanu (Mercyland) was used to describe Iya Alakara's area because no one went hungry after visiting Iya Alakara.
